I cannot see the path you have set before me
Path in which is narrow but straight
Path that you have created before I made my first step
Because I made my eyes blind to your ways
Lord, I am a wretched sinner
I cannot hear the voice who calls my name
Voice which is loud like a trumpet
Voice fiercer than a lion's roar
Because I made my ears deaf to your commands
Lord, I am a wretched sinner
I cannot speak or cry out your holy name, Yahweh
Tongue in which you equipped me with
Tongue that can bless a thousand souls
Because I made my tongue mute or speak cursings to you and your people.
Lord, I am a wretched sinner
I cannot sense your presence within me
Spirit who is like a beautiful dove
Spirit who dwells and stirs within my heart
Because I made my heart paralyzed to your callings
Lord, I am a wretched sinner
I cannot taste the bread and wine
Flesh that made us see the Son beautiful
Blood that washed us white as snow
Because I did not love you and depended on my own ways
Lord, I am a wretched sinner.
Because I cannot see, hear, speak, sense, and taste
I am nothing but a lost sheep ready to be slain.
But You O Lord, took my place
Paid the full price in death
You made me see, hear, speak, sense, and taste of your glory.
For I am a wretched sinner no more.
Revelations 15:3b - 4
"Great and amazing are your deeds,
O Lord God the Almighty!
Just and true are your ways,
O King of the nations!
Who will not fear, O Lord,
and glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship you,
for your righteous acts have been
revealed."
