The billows over my head
I sink in deep waters, taking my breath
All the waves overspread
Sorrows of death surround me
Though I sing a sinner's song
Still You hear your servant's plea
You welcomed me and did not prolong
If ever I glutton in sin
Crown of Glory too bright I will not bear
Never! But I be clothed splendor within
And ride with the King of Glory with flair
Wading in the ocean of death
I hear my Savior say
"Fear not for I am with you,
and I shall give you breath."
