Fasting meat for 40 days.

Daniel 1:8-20

"... Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine he drank... And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs..."

In response to our Thanksgiving day, I have decided to fast meat for forty days. The inclination to fast meat (no beverages of any sort as well) is a long story (You can talk to me separately via Facebook about this decision.) Please note, I'm not in any way "dieting", "trying to lose weight", "trying to look good or feel good", etc. The purpose is to ultimately depend on God in all endeavors - my recent struggle hindered me from knowing God and establishing His Word.

Fasting starts December 1st and will end January 10th.

Song and Prayer:
Lord, Daniel anchored to the things of God
Like his name, God my Judge, truly truly he saw You as the ultimate High Court.
Jehovah Jirel, be my provider in every need, My Shield and Rod
Like Daniel, equip me with unashamed boldness, so that I do not fall short.

Your teachings are my ever longing harmony
Let my heart be the Tablet of Your Word forever
Comfort me in the midst of the mighty gale, unceasingly
Without your righteous right hand, I will never see that narrow path ever.

As I fast, show me your glory more and more
For I shall hunger and thirst for you eagerly
And when I find You my hunger and thirst will be satisfied for sure
And when I am satisfied, I shall worship you zealously.

But until that marvelous day, I shall fight the good fight.
